Leher Foundation

The main aim of the Leher foundation is to empower women and give them the required skills in order to enhance their life skill and employability through the medium of sports. They conduct weekly sessions wherein issues like education, health and gender sensitization are touched upon. In order to bring about an even more effective change, the members of the Leher foundation are in direct contact with the child as well as the parents and the community.Leher is a platform for children who are not getting opportunities to participate in sports as well as getting education, specially for girls, and to help them realize their responsibility to their fellow youth as leaders & role models

Leher foundation was started in the year 2009 by Mr. Gaurang Chauhan and his colleagues Ms. Parvati Pujari. Working with underprivilege children & youth

The Leher foundation started out with only 3 girls but now have around 200 children under their wings. They also plan on expanding their all-girls organization to boys as well. The Lehar foundation tries to address issues like education etc, especially through the medium of football. They believe that even though the resources required for the game is relatively less, the game provides a strong value base. It teaches the girls various life skills like team work, leadership etc. A sport also speaks a universal language that is able to emotionally combine and unite groups. Thus through the medium of sports, the Lehar Foundation aims at touching and empowering the lives of many of this city’s underprivileged Girls.
